The Rain ... Elixar ( Amiltham )

Rain is traditionally worshipped as God in Indian cultures. Thirukkural has a theme for 'Rain' to appreciate its significance and beauty.

Rain which sustains the world
should be deemed life's ambrosia.
( Van ninru ulagam valangi varuthalan
than Amiltham endrunarthal patru )

[ Rain 2 : 1 ]

The word 'Amiltham' has no equivalent word in English. This is a magical medicine/syrup, and it is believed that if you drink a drop of it, it will make you immortal ! The equivalent word from Roman/Greek mythology is 'Ambrosia' .
